New Fastech360 model !!!
A model of this train has been anticipated for a long time by many enthusiasts …
At a recent trade show, a sample was displayed of a future release of an N scale model of the JR East Fastech 360 experimental Shinkansen. Unfortunately, the prototype, although only 3 years old, has already been retired (read scrapped?).
The identity of the manufacturer was not revealed, but at a guess we all know who is the most innovative when it comes to releasing models of unusual, interesting or one-off prototypes
It is a little confusing as to which version this is a model of – the 6 car configuration would indicate it is the E955 Fastech 360Z (which has both ends the same), but the two different shaped ends shown on the model belong to the 8 car E954 Fastech 360S. Anyway, it is just a pre-production sample, so we will have to wait and see – but I would also be interested to know how they will do the iridescent paint scheme !!!
I don’t know if the neko-mimi’s will be moveable or not, or whether you can fix them in an ‘up’ or ‘down’ position. Maybe some clown will work out how to do that with DCC
More information will be revealed when it comes to hand …

The Fastech360 Model looks cool! N Scale or not, it looks Pretty Cool.
I would LOVE a FASTECH360……in HO Scale. Interesting concept if the Neko Ears retract when throttling up.
I would also want the JR500, Doctor Yellow, 100 & 700 Series…..in HO SCale. =D
ModelTrainGuy – 100, 500, 700 & 923 Dr Yellow models are already available in HO Scale.
I think that’s HO scale and specialed made for a museum.
Butn its impresive
No it’s not HO – it IS N SCALE !!!
Looks to me like its HO scale. IMO it will never be released. Some were made in HO for Rail museum layouts though.
…I hope so!!!
I like the shinkansen.
Dr. Yellow
It would be great if the neko ears were functional and really deployed during braking or de-throttling the model.
