New buildings for ‘Enoshima’
The release of more new buildings from Kato, Greenmax & Tomytec have forced many changes to the real estate landscape on Enoshima !!!
Unfortunately, this is a common occurrence recently, as there are more and more new buildings being released, and I HAVE to get them all and then have to find somewhere to put them
Of course I can’t complain, as the variety available now was never dreamed of a few years back, and the size of this layout now would never have been possible when I first started Setagaya.
I have acquired the 4 latest Kato old style corner shops, the Greenmax modular city building kit, and the 3 new Tomytec apartment buildings. Here below there be examples of how they will be incorporated on the layout (please note some of the new scenes include unfinished work
The first new Tomytec apartment building replaced a modern 3 storey Kato house.
Here you can see the before and after shots of using one of the Kato corner shops and the Tomytec concrete apartment building. They have replaced a previous release Kato corner shop and an old Tomix apartment block. The edges will be fixed up alongside the tracks. I have not used the single storey wooden apartment building yet.
Here you can see where another new Kato corner shop has replaced the one that magically was transported to the scene above !!!
Along the front of the layout, a row of the old Greenmax house/shop kits have been replaced by the other 2 new Kato corner shops. A small pedestrian crossing will be added over the line between the two buildings.
The street behind the Enoshima station has been shuffled around to fit in a new Greenmax city building that I put together. I have built it so that the front & back look like two different buildings. One is more like a luxury hi-rise apartment building, and the other is more like an office block. As you can’t see both sides at the same time, it does not look ’strange’ and this way I can turn it around for a variety of appearances. Please note that further details, signs etc still have to be added to this building.
The first sample I built of the new Greenmax kit has been placed here …

Pedro – because there is not enough room for robots (or even Godzilla) with all the buildings I have !!!!
(I like your dioramas)
This is looking better and better… but how do you fight the temptation to fill your city with giant robots???
