Kato announce release of super-elevated Unitrack

At a recent product preview meeting, Kato announced a world-first release – super-elevated track 🙂

  • This will be in a double track section with radii of 381/414mm.
  • The curves will be in 45 degree sections.
  • There will also be 22.5 degree curved RH & LH transition sections to bring the raised curve back down to ‘flat’ track.
  • The amount of super-elevation is 0.65mm.
  • This new Unitrack range is ballasted, but with concrete sleepers.

A new range of ‘wider’ overhead wire supports was also announced, which include wire tension weight balancers.

Initially this new track range will be released late May in two sets …

Later on, individual sections will be made available.

  1. I think this cant trucks are nice. They describe that the height difference between the outer rail and the inner rail at the cant part is 0.65mms which is roughly 9.75cms for real. There’s a striction that the difference must be within 10cms, so it’s within the striction 🙂
